Schedule/Results | Roster | News | Archives Hansen, Hernandez, Moskosky Named Preseason All-Americans
July 22, 2004 ABILENE, Texas - Good things are expected from Hardin-Simmons football team this season and three players have been named first-team All-American by d3football.com, the only Division III only Web site in the nation. Senior guard Adam Hernandez and senior cornerback Alex Hansen have both been named preseason All-Americans by four different publications. This is the first preseason honor for tight end Matt Moskosky this year. Hernandez and Hansen each earned All-American honors with stellar seasons a year ago. Hernandez, a three-year starter from Victoria, did not allow a sack, helped pave the way for a 1,000-yard rusher and has set the school record in the offseason by squatting 730 pounds, hang cleaning 405 pounds and bench pressing 500 pounds. Hansen, a native of Southlake, had seven interceptions and was able to totally shut down his side of the field. Teams were gun shy about throwing his way last season. He has 16 career interceptions. Moskosky, a senior from Plano, missed most of the first four games a year ago, but is still a dangerous weapon. He had 28 catches for 343 yards a year ago, but was an All-American in 2002 with 45 catches for 552 yards and six touchdowns. Hardin-Simmons will open its season with the first night varsity game at Shelton Stadium, when it host Sul Ross State at 6 p.m. on Sept. 9. |
