Dec. 19, 2004 ABILENE, Texas - David Rausch, a former All-American Southwest Conference defensive back at Hardin-Simmons, has been named as the defensive line and junior varsity coach at his alma mater. Rausch, who has spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State and helped led the Cowboys to the Cotton and Alamo Bowls, spent two years as a student coach and strength coach for HSU after his playing career. He played at Hardin-Simmons in 1995 and 1996, before redshirting and playing the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He is third all-time in interceptions at Hardin-Simmons with 11. Rausch replaces Ronnie Hughes, who retired following the 2004 season. Hughes had been the defensive line and JV coach for two seasons. |
