SHERMAN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' third-ranked football team continued its roll with a 53-6 win over Austin College in American Southwest Conference action at Apple Stadium in Sherman on Saturday.

The Cowboys moved to a 41-6 halftime lead behind 341 yards and 18 first downs. HSU took the opening possession and drove 65 yards and nine plays. Lance Moore capped the drive with a 15-yard run.

HSU finished the game with 604 yards of total offense and the defense limited the Kangaroos to 280 yards. HSU had 31 first downs,

Brandon Mooney put the Kangaroos on the board on the ensuing possession, on a 5-yard pass from Brian Womack, a low snap resulted in a missed PAT. After that it was all Cowboys in the first half.

Moore scored his HSU record 18th rushing touchdown on the season from three yards out. Len Williams then did what he does best - score touchdowns. He sandwiched a pair of touchdown catches between a 58-yard scoring strike to Patrick Shelby. Williams scores came from 18 and 3 yards out. Williams has six touchdown on the year in just seven receptions.

All three TD passes came from Jordan Neal, who was 14 of 17 in the first half. Two of his three incompletions were drops. Neal added a 4-yard TD run to end the half. He finished the day with 224 passing yards and did not touch the field in the second half.

HSU came out in the second half with its second units. Backup quarterback Jordy Bernhard scored on a 14-yard touchdown run in the first drive of the second half. Clint Pace capped the Cowboy scoring with an amazing 14-yard pass from Nathan Reeves.

The Cowboys set up a date with Texas Lutheran for the American Southwest Conference outright title. HSU clinched a share of the ASC title. Hardin-Simmons is now 9-0 on the year and 8-0 in ASC play. Austin College fell to 3-6 overall and 3-5 in ASC play.
