Sept. 18, 2004 PINEVILLE, La. - Hardin-Simmons' nationally-ranked football team moved to 2-0 with a 47-14 win over Louisiana College, Saturday night at Bates Stadium in Pineville. Lance Moore scored four touchdowns, three on the ground and one on a reception to lead the Cowboy offense. He had his eighth straight 100-yard game with 136 yards. He had 113 yards and three TDs in the first half. The Cowboys had 598 yards of total offense. He got the Cowboys on the board at the 13:00 minute mark of the second quarter on a 22-yard pass from Jordan Neal. He then scored from 20-yards out on the Cowboys' next possession to make it 14-0 at the 7:32 mark of the first half. Moore added his third score at the 2:29 mark of the second quarter on a 15-yard run. Shane McCord's PAT was wide left and the Cowboys led 20-0. In the third quarter, Jordan Neal led the Cowgirls on a 11-play, 70-yard drive. Neal capped the drive with a 15-yard run. Moore made it 34-0 with a 1-yard run. Louisiana College got on the board on a 79-yard pass from Wesley Cooper to Henry Hunter. Jared May took the ensuing kickoff back 70 yards for a touchdown. It was his third career kickoff return for a touchdown and second of the year. His three TDs set the school record for career kickoff return TDs. LC added another late touchdown on a Cooper pass to Nathan Furlow from 2-yards out with 6:05 to play. Brad Clark tacked on a 6-yard touchdown at the 3:36 mark to give HSU a 47-14 lead. HSU returns home for a 2 p.m. game with Mississippi College on Sept. 25. |
