Expected to be one of the leading contenders for the Melberger Award as the Nation’s Best Player. 2001: Was a second-team All-American after leading the Cowboys to an 8-2 record. Threw for 2,511 yards and 31 touchdowns in nine games as the Cowboys starter. Completed 142 of 219 (64.2%) passes and had just four interceptions on the season. Led all divisions in quarterback efficiency with a 204.21 rating. Had 407 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. Was the ASC Offensive Player of the Year. Named All-American by three publications and was an All-South Region performer as well. 2000: Redshirt season. 1998-99: Was the starting quarterback at Tyler Junior College. Also was at Texas Tech for one semester, where he went through spring drills. High School: Was a district MVP at Aledo High School, where he was a teammate with current HSU teammate Tim Eason. Was an all-state selection. Personal: Son of Candi and Ronnie Proctor. Born August 13, 1979. Physical Education major.
