Will compete for time at quarterback, after leading the Cowboys to a 6-1 record as a starter last season. 2005: Became the starter in the second game of the season. He went 17-for-25 with three TDs and 52 yards rushing in a win over Louisiana College in the game he was inserted into the lineup. Had 12 TDs in his first five games as the starter. Went 113-for-168 for 1,354 yards and 12 TDs. Tore his ACL in the McMurry game to end his season. 2004: Spent the year as the Cowboys' backup quarterback. Was 2-for-3 for 24 yards and also had two rushing touchdowns in the Cowboys' season-opening win over Sul Ross State. Completed 5-of-6 passes for 60 yards against Austin College. For the season he completed 13 of 24 passes for 138 yards. Also ran for three touchdowns. 2003: Redshirted at the University of Indiana.
