ABILENE, Texas -
Hardin-Simmons (2-2 overall and 1-1 in American Southwest Conference play) returns home after a Thanksgiving roadtrip to UT-Tyler and UT-Dallas. The Cowboys played solid in both games and were able to pull away down the stretch at UTD after UTT had pulled the same thing on the Cowboys the game before. All told a split on the road against two teams predicted in the top half of the ASC East will not hurt the Cowboys chances at a league title. HSU will face two more East division teams this weekend...Mardochee Jean had a big week for the Cowboys and was named the ASC West player of the week (see page 2)...The Cowboys veteran team has been tested so far this season, because the offense has been sluggish at times. However, the Cowboys defense has helped them win two close games down the stretch. Each time the Cowboys have needed a stop in its two wins they were able to get it and HSU is allowing opponents only 67.5 points per game and are allowing only 58.3 points per game to its three Division III foes.
