Cowboys Announce Hoops Recruiting Class

Mardochee Jean

Aug. 3, 2006

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball coach Dylan Howard has announced his 2006-07 recruiting class. The class included four guards that will go with a veteran team that returns four starters.

Harrison Eaddy is a 5-10 guard from Ft. Worth Christian. He was a two-time all-district selection.

Mike Dinkins is a 6-1 wing player from Arlington Bowie. He averaged eight points and four assists and was a two-year letterman.

Eddie Berry III is a 5-8 point guard from Wheatley High School. He did not play his senior season, because he was a in-year transfer making him ineligible. He did average eight points and five assists at Elsik High School as a junior.

Steven Luckey is an all-district guard from South Grand Prairie. He averaged 6.6 points and 2.5 assists as a senior.

"We filled some needs at the guard position," said Howard. "We have some guys that can move the ball up and down the court and can also score. We only have one true point guard on the roster, so they will all have a chance for some early playing time."

The Cowboys also return 6-8 center Dan Jean, who played at HSU as a freshman. He played at McMurry last season and is back at HSU this year. He is the brother of Mardochee Jean, an all-region center for the Cowboys last season.

HSU also returns seniors Matt Brackett and Zach Pickelman. Pickleman was a first-team all-ASC player last season. James Peters also returns for HSU.
