Cowboys and Indians Set For Battle

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team tips off a busy week with a game against cross-town rival McMurry. The Cowboys, who have doubled last season's win total, are looking to break a 10-game losing streak to the Indians.

About Hardin-Simmons HSU has been led by its three seniors Jordan Clower, Bryan Conover and Jason Eaker. The three are all averaging double digits All three have scored in double figures in each of the Cowboys last four games. The Cowboys doubled last season's win total with their fourth win of the season against Schreiner. With a few breaks the record could be even better as HSU has had a second half lead in 13 of the 18 games this season.

About McMurry The cardiac Indians sit atop the American Southwest Conference West Division standings with a 6-1 mark. They have won three of their last four games in overtime and have won all five of their overtime games this season. In their current four-game homestand they are outshooting opponents at the free throw line 109-160. The Indians have won five games in a row. Juan Muniz (13.2 ppg) leads a balanced attack for the Indians. Eddie Love and Kendrick Ellis each average double figures. The Indians are not playing the helter-skelter pace they have played in the past.

Last Time The Indians pulled out a 100-89 win over the Cowboys on Dec. 7 at the Mabee Complex. Weston Ryon's 19 points led five Cowboys in double figures in the highest-scoring output of the season for HSU. Juan Muniz led the Indians with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
