The Cowboys went on the road last week in ASC action and came away with a split...The Cowboys rolled over Sul Ross State in the first half and never looked back as they got their third straight conference victory...The Cowboys brought that 3-game winning streak to Brownwood to battle Howard Payne but saw their streak end with a strong second half by HPU...The Cowboys will host Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday and the Cowboys are looking to snap a skid that has ssen HSU lose 4-of-5 to the Crusaders...HSU has not lost a home game yet this year, going 5-0 at the Mabee Comlex...The Crusaders have a 9-2 record in the conference and are tied for the ASC West lead with Howard Payne...They are currently riding a four-game winning streak ...Zach Pinkelman has gotten hot from the field improving his scoring average four points since conference play started. He poured in 26 and 25 points in each of the two wins over Concordia last year...Concordia is currently on a five-game losing streak and has gone winless in their four road games so far this year. Mardochee Jean, second in the nation in blocks per game, had one block this pass weekend to break the HSU single-season record for blocks with a total of 56...Thursday's game with Mary Hardin-Baylor will be the first game at the Mabee Complex with the new chair back seating on the West side of the arena....Now each fan is required to show their ticket to get into the new reserved seating...Pickelman has scored in double figures in the last 10 games, the longest streak of his career...James Peters is sixth in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio...Tanner Kudrna continues to be a consistent double-digit scorer for the Cowboys...Mary Hardin-Baylor was the preseaosn pick to win the ASC West.
