The Tip The Cowboys used a balanced attack en route to two wins last weekend over Austin College and Ozarks at the Mabee Complex...The wins snapped a four-game losing streak and kept the Cowboys tied with Sul Ross State for fourth place in the ASC West...With the top four teams advancing to the ASC Tournament every game becomes critical for the Cowboys' chances of making another postseason run...HSU currently sits two games behind McMurry and Howard Payne and one and a half games behind Mary Hardin-Baylor in the ASC West standings...HSU has won three straight games against Sul Ross State...The Lobos have won three straight ASC West titles, including a shared title with HSU last season...Sul Ross State has not lost at home this season, posting a 4-0 record and HSU is just 1-6 on the road this season...All three teams get rather limited minutes from its bench. HPU's starters all average 29 minutes per game or more, four of the five HSU starters average over 27 minutes and SRSU has four players averaging over 27 minutes per outing...Four of the top six scorers in the ASC West will be on the floor this weekend with Sid Hooper (21.8-1st), C.J. Acosta (18.7-3rd), Sean Wheeler (17.2-4th) and Zach Pickelman (16.8-6th)...HSU is looking for its longest winning streak of the season at three games going into Thursday's game...HSU is now 12-4 in the games that point guard Matt Brackett has started the last two seasons and 13-10 when he does not start.
