Final Stats

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' furious comeback came up just short in a 75-70 loss to UT-Dallas, Wednesday afternoon in American Southwest Conference Crossover action in Richardson.

The Cowboys trailed by as many as 20 and were down 63-48 when Dathan Jones hit a 3-pointer at the 9:17 mark. Three's by Garrett Pool, Zach Pickelman and another by Jones cut the deficit to 72-64 at the 5:06 mark.

A Chris Gammage follow shot cut it to 72-68 with 3:22, but the Cowboys gave up five offensive rebounds down the stretch and could not get any closer.

Tanner Kudrna led the Cowboys with 18 and Pickelman added 11. HSU had a season-best 11 3-pointers in the loss. Jason Malone and James Venters led the Comets with 15 and 10 points respectively.

HSU fell to 2-6 on the year, while UT-Dallas improved to 4-4. The Cowboys will return to action Saturday when they host East Texas Baptist at 3 p.m.
