Dec. 6, 2003 DENTON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team dropped behind 13-0 and never got back in it as they lost 109-49 to North Texas, Saturday evening in Denton. The outmaned Cowboys gave a good effort and had some bright moments against a team that was bigger than them at every position. Late in the game UNT was shooting 59 percent, before falling to 53 at the end. HSU was led by Tanner Kudrna'a 13 points and Grant Justus added 10. Freshman point guard Matt Brackett continued his with development with five assists and four rebounds and just three turnovers against an aggressive pressure defense. The Cowboys were able to execute their offense, but often could not finish the shots. The Mean Green held a 56-27 advantage on the boards and had 11 dunks. HSU falls to 1-5 and North Texas is now 2-2. HSU is off until Dec. 16 when it plays its conference opener at McMurry. |
