Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball teams late rally fell short as the Cowboys lost to UT-Tyler 80-77, Monday night in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex.

Calvin Nite and James Peters each posted career highs with 22 and 15 points respectively and Mardochee Jean had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Cowboys.

UT-Tyler was excellent down the stretch pulling out to a 10-point lead with 4:14 to go in a game that had been back forth the entire way. The score was tied six times and the lead changed hands seven times. UT-Tyler led on the boards 44-33.

Patrick Branche dominated on the inside with 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Patriots. Brandon Weasby had 16 points and Michael Galloway added 12.

UT-Tyler improved to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in ASC play. HSU fell to 3-2 and 1-1. The Cowboys play at LeTourneau on Thursday at 7:30.
