Final Stats

ODESSA, Texas - Hardin-Simmons matched last year's win total with a 71-61 win over UT-Permian Basin at the UTPB Gym in Odessa on Wednesday night.

Senior forward Bryan Conover led the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds and junior point guard Jay McCall had 11 assists in the game.

The Cowboys jumped out to a 39-18 lead with 1:18 to go in the first half on a 3-pointer by freshman Grant Justus. The three ball capped a 13-2 run for the Cowboys that included five points by Justus and a 3-pointer each for McCall and freshman Weston Ryon. Jason Eaker added a pair of free throws in the run.

The Cowboys biggest lead of the game at the 14:49 mark when sophomore Matt Autry drained a triple to give the Cowboys a 49-24 lead.

Autry had 11 points and was joined in double figures by Justus, who had 10 points on 4-for-4 shooting, including a pair of treys.

HSU will return to action Saturday in Clarksville, Ark. against the University of the Ozarks at 3 p.m.
