Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons men's basketball team defeated Concordia 89-75 in American Southwest Conference action Saturday at Mabee Complex.

Senior Jason Eaker led the Cowboys with 26 points while senior Bryan Conover added 17 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Clower and Weston Ryon each hit double figures with 14 and 13 points respectivley.

The game was tied at 68, when Carl Thompson scored a driving layup with 3:32 to go to give the Cowboys the lead. After forcing a turnover in the press, Jason Eaker hit his third 3-pointer of the game to give the Cowboys a 73-68 lead with 3:02 to play. Thompson gave the Cowboys an eight point lead when he scored a traditional 3-point play at the 2:30 mark. The Cowboys went 9-for-10 down the stretch at the free thwo line to secure the victory.

Darren Johnson led Concordia with 17 points.

The Cowboys are now 5-18 overall and 2-10 in ASC action while Concordia dropped to 3-20 overall and 3-9 in coference.

HSU will be back in action Thursday when they take on Sul Ross in Alpine at 7:30 p.m.
