Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team dropped another close one as they fell 72-66 to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex in Abilene.

Grant Justus' 3-pointer at the 1:01 mark cut the UMHB lead to 66-64. Quinton Gibson then scored four straight points for the Crusaders, including a fall-away jumper with 13 seconds to go in the game and with the shot clock expiring.

Four Cowboys reached double figures as Jordan Clower had 12, Grant Justus had 11, including three triples and Carl Thompson and Jason Eaker had 10 points each.

Gibson led the Crusaders with 21 and Ralph Viverette chipped in 15. The loss dropped the Cowboys to 4-18 overall and to 1-10 in ASC West play. UMHB improved to 11-11 and 5-6. The Cowboys close out their home slate Saturday with Senior Day at 3 p.m.
