KERRVILLE, Texas - Calvin Nite poured in a career-best 31 points and Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team rallied from a 17-point deficit in the second half for the second straight game in an 85-77 win over Schreiner in American Southwest Conference action on Saturday afternoon. Calvin Nite dominated the game in the second half with 23 points after halftime. James Peters was the only other Cowboy in double figures with 11 points. HSU was 27-for-33 in the game that featured 59 fouls and 70 free throws between the two teams. HSU dominated the boards 31-20. Schreiner came out hot shooting 60 percent in the first half and led 18-6 five minutes into the game. Justin Evans led Schreiner with 26 points and Jonathan Young had 19. With the win the Cowboys improved to 15-6 overall and 13-5 in ASC play. Schreiner fell to 1-18 overall and 1-16 in conference play. HSU plays at Howard Payne on Thursday. |
