Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' battled conference-leader McMurry all the way to the final buzzer, before falling 75-71 in American Southwest Conference action Tuesday evening at McMurry's Kimbrell Arena.

HSU led most of the game until Michael Qualls scored nine straight points to give the Indians a 67-61 lead. The Cowboys responded with a 3-point play and a pair of buckets by Jordan Clower and a lay-up Matt Autry to tie the game at 71-71 with 3:21 to play.

Neither team could score on the next five possessions before the Indians' Kelon Lewis nailed what proved to be a game-winning 3-pointer with 1:33 to play.

Bryan Conover's 3-pointer to tie the game with :09 came up short and the Indians won their 11th straight over the Cowboys.

Jordan Clower led the Cowboys with 27 points, including 19 in the second half. Conover added 14 and Autry had 11. Lewis led the Indians with 13 points off the bench.

The Cowboys fall to 4-15 with the loss and 1-7 in ASC play. McMurry improved to 13-6, 7-1.
