Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team had its second straight blowout as it defeated Sul Ross State 84-58 at the Mabee Complex on Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference action.

The Cowboys led 36-18 at the break and Sul Ross State never came closer than 13 points in the second half.

HSU received stellar play from its two shooting guards Michael Dinkins and James Peters. Peters had a season-high 20 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists. Dinkins had 19 points and the two did a good job on SRSU's Art Gonzalez, limiting him to 2-for-11 shooting.

Zach Pickelman added 13 points and the Cowboys received 25 points off the bench.

The Cowboys improved to 10-9 on the year and 10-5 in ASC West action. Sul Ross State fell to 5-14 overall and 5-10 in league play. HSU plays at Howard Payne on Thursday night in its next action.
