Final Stats

SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team moved its winning streak to five games with a 66-60 American Southwest Conference road win over Texas Lutheran, Thursday night at Memorial Gym in Seguin.

The Cowboys led for much of the game, but the upstart Bulldogs overcame a 14-point HSU advantage to take the lead at the 12:58 mark of the second half at 38-37. From that point on, neither team led by more than three points until the final margin.

HSU trailed 60-58, but scored the final eight points of the game.

TLU took advantage of the free throw line in the second half hitting 20-of-22 opportunities to get back into the game. HSU dominated the boards 41-28 and limited TLU to 35.3 percent shooting.

Marcus Smith led the Cowboys with 17 points. Dan Jean added 11 points and Charlie Pannell had 10 points.

TLU was led by Nate Walton's 19 points and Josh Scott added 17 in the loss.

HSU is now 9-7 overall and 8-4 in ASC play. TLU fell to 1-14 overall and 1-10 in league play. HSU plays at Schreiner on Saturday at 3 p.m.
