Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons men battled back from 27 points down in the second half to cut the lead to eight, but could not get all the way back as they fell to Sul Ross State 100-85 in American Southwest Conference men's basketball action, Thursday evening at the Mabee Complex.

Jason Eaker led three Cowboys with over 20 points with 23. Bryan Conover had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Jordan Clower added 21 points.

Chris Packer led the Lobos with 28 points off the bench. He had 20 points in an 11 minute stretch in the first half, including four 3-pointers.

The loss was the Cowboys sixth in a row and they fell to 3-12 overall and 0-4 in ASC West play. Sul Ross improved to 12-3 and 5-0 in loop action.

HSU returns to action Saturday when it hosts Howard Payne at 3 p.m.
