Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball dropped its fourth straight game with a 76-63 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference West Division play, Thursday evening at the Mabee Gym in Belton.

The Cowboys trailed 19-6 out of the gate, but cut the deficit to three by halftime and got it to one at 36-35 in the second half, but the Crusaders responded with a 17-2 run to bury the Cowboys hopes of a road win.

HSU was led by senior Bryan Conover, who had 15 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Adam Shoupe had a career-best 14 points

The loss dropped the Cowboys to 3-10 on the season and 0-2 in ASC West play. Mary Hardin-Baylor improved to 8-6 and 1-1 in conference play.

The Cowboys return to action Saturday at Concordia.
