Cowboys Fall to MC

CLINTON, Miss. - Hardin-Simmons men's basketball continues its improvement as they battled perennial conference leader Mississippi College to the end but came up short in a low-scoring 57-44 American Southwest Conference crossover loss, Saturday in Clinton, Miss.

HSU tied the game at 42 but the Choctaws closed the game on a 15-2 run.

Carl Thompson led the Cowboys with 15 points. James Dixon led the Choctaws with 16 points and Nick Paige had 14.

The difference in the game came at the lines. MC hit eight 3-pointers and the Cowboys had only two and the Cowboys were just 10-for-19 at the line.

The Cowboys fell to 3-9 overall and Mississippi College improved to 9-3. HSU returns to action, Thursday when it hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor at 7:30.
