Cowboys Fall To Louisiana College, 79-68

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team jumped out to a 12-point lead in the first half, but faltered down the stretch to lose 79-68 to Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference Crossover action Thursday night at the Mabee Complex.

The Cowboys shot 57 percent in the first half and took a 41-32 lead into the locker room. The Wildcats made two second half runs, a 9-3 out of the locker room to cut it to three and a 16-5 run around the five-minute mark to jump out to a nine-point lead.

Jordan Clower led the Cowboys with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Bryan Conover had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Matt Autry had 14 points, his highest total since the season-opener. Included in that 14 were two highlight reel dunks about 20 seconds apart in the first half.

Ryan Vines led the Wildcats with 23 points, including five 3-pointers. Louisiana College improved to 7-4 with the win and HSU fell to 3-8.

The Cowboys host Mississippi College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
