Coleman Wins Gold Glove Award, Simpson Named Third-Team All-American

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons baseball team had two more players honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association as Michael Simpson was named a third-team All-American and Brad Coleman was named the Gold Glove third baseman for Division III.

Simpson, a senior centerfielder, hit .409 with 13 home runs and 53 RBIs on the year. He was named the American Southwest Conference co-player of the year.

Coleman had an amazing .973 fielding percentage as the third baseman with only three errors on the year. Two of those came late in the year in one game. Coleman also hit .357 with six home runs and 41 RBIs.

Both players were seniors from Abilene Cooper High School.

The Cowboys went 25-17 and advanced to the ASC postseason for the third straight season.
