ABILENE, Texas - Three Hardin-Simmons baseball players, Michael Simpson, Taylor Gibbs and Brad Coleman, were named to the All-West region team as voted on by the American Baseball Coaches Association and all three will appear on the national ballot for All-American.

Simpson, who was the ASC West co-Player of the Year, was on the team as an outfielder. He hit .409 with 13 home runs and 53 RBIs.

Coleman was named as a third baseman. He hit .357 with six home runs and 41 RBIs and had a .973 fielding percentage.

Gibbs was named to the team as a designated hitter after hitting .355 with six home runs and 39 RBIs. He also led the team with eight stolen bases.

All three players played their high school baseball at Abilene Cooper.

HSU went 25-17 this past season and advanced to the ASC postseason for the third straight year.
