May 15, 2007 ABILENE, Texas - Five Hardin-Simmons student-athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America College Division Academic All-Region VI teams for baseball and softball. Blake Koch, a senior catcher who has a 3.86 GPA in Math, was named first team on the baseball team. Pitcher C.J. Regala was named to the second team. He graduated from HSU in three years with a 3.91 GPA as a Biology/Pre-Med major. Lydia Bradley was named first team on the softball team after posting a 3.40 GPA as Chemistry major. She was named to the team as a designated player. Arin Spence and Cricket Criner were named to the second-team. Spence was selected as a pitcher after posting a 3.49 GPA and Criner has a 3.93 GPA as a Nursing major. Region VI consists of all of the schools in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The College Division is comprised of all of the teams in NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA competition. Koch and Bradley will go on the national ballot for Academic All-American honors. |
