April 7, 2003 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team will host Trinity in non-conference action Tuesday at Hunter Field. The two teams will square off at 1 p.m. at Hunter Field. HSU is 13-15 overall while Trinity is 24-4 overall. The Cowboys are coming off a 1-2 three-game conference series with McMurry. Ryan Devere had seven hits, including three home runs and one double, and five RBIs in the three-game series. Devere had a two-run homer in Friday night's 14-6 loss and a one-run homer in the first inning and a two-run homer in the sixth inning in the 8-6 win over McMurry. Devere has a .337 batting average, 32 hits, eight doubles, five home runs, 19 RBIs and 23 runs on the year. Kyle Tabor (4-3) pitched a complete seven inning game, struck out five Indians and picked up the 8-6 win for the Cowboys. John Schlaffer leads the team with six home runs on the year while Josh Anderlohr and Ryan Devere follow close by with five home runs each. Chuy Rodriguez, Brady Coke and Anderlohr have all tripled twice. Rodriguez leads with 11 doubles on the year while Schlaffer and Devere follow with eight doubles each. |
