April 3, 2003 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team will host cross-town rival McMurry in American Southwest Conference action Friday night at Hunter Field at 7 p.m. The Cowboys and the Indians will first play Friday at 7 p.m. and then a doubleheader on Saturday. HSU is 12-13 overall and 6-9 in ASC action while McM is 16-9 overall and 9-6 in ASC play. Kyle Tabor (3-3) will start on the mound for the Cowboys while Josh Lee will start for the Indians. The Cowboys are coming off of a two-game sweep on the road over Austin College Tuesday. HSU won 8-5 and 3-2. Josh Anderlohr led with three hits, including two doubles, in game one while Brandon Beene and Chuy Rodriguez had two hits each in game two. Blake Wallace (1-0) and Craig Foreman (1-5) picked up the win for the Cowboys. John Schlaffer leads the team with six home runs on the year while Josh Anderlohr follows close by with five. Anderlohr, Beene and Brady Coke have all tripled twice. Rodriguez leads with 11 doubles on the year. |
