March 31, 2003 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team will take on Austin College in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday in Sherman. The Cowboys and the Kangaroos will first play Tuesday at 2 p.m. and then the second game of the doubleheader will follow. HSU is 10-13 overall and AC is 0-26 overall. Josh Bishop and Craig Foreman will be the starter pitchers for tomorrow's games. HSU is coming off of a three game loss to undefeated Texas Lutheran. The Cowboys came close to winning game two of the doubleheader Saturday. HSU scored three runs to take the lead 4-2 in the second inning. Brian Whitworth scored an unearned run while Chuy Rodriguez and Brandon Beene advanced home on John Schlaffer's single. But the Bulldogs came back from behind and scored four runs in the fifth and two runs in the seventh inning to win. John Schlaffer leads the Cowboys with six home runs on the year while Josh Anderlohr has five. Anderlohr and Brady Coke have tripled twice while Chuy Rodriguez leads with 11 doubles on the year. |
