Schedule/Results | Roster | News | Archives Coleman To Be Honored at HSU-ACU Game on Tuesday
March 17, 2008
ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons and Abilene Christian Universities will present Brad Coleman and Alec Sowards their Rawlings Gold Gloves the two earned a year ago when ACU and HSU renew their baseball series Tuesday night at Crutcher Scott Field at 6 p.m. Coleman, who was the inaugural Division III Gold Glove winner last season, and Sowards were both honored with the award during the summer after last season. The actual trophies did not come in until recently and both schools decided to honor them at the game. Both are now student assistant coaches in the respective programs. It is unique that two different players from the same town in tow different divisions won the award. As for the game itself, the Cowboys will close out the toughest 10-game stretch of the season with the game. The two teams have not met since an HSU 15-9 win in 2001. ACU owns the all-time series advantage at 28-22. The Cowboys are 11-8 on the year and ACU is 19-9 and on an 11-game winning streak. |
