April 25, 2003 AUSTIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons baseball team dropped a 15-2 decision to Concordia in American Southwest Conference action Friday night in Austin. The Cowboys jumped out with two runs in the first inning. John Schlaffer knocked in a run to move within three of the Cowboy single-season RBI record. The Tornados hit five home runs including three by Jake Decker. HSU fell to 19-19 overall and 12-13 in ASC play. Concordia improved to 27-11 and 20-5 in conference play. Schlaffer, Andy Harrington and Seth Gandy each had two hits for the Cowboys. Decker had four hits and five RBIS to lead the Tornados and Scott Berkman had three hits and earned the victory on the mound. |
