Cowboys Fall To Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' got a solid pitching performance from Brian Arnold, but could not get the offense going in a 3-1 loss to Angelo State on Monday evening at Foster Field in San Angelo.

The Rams got on the board in the first inning on a solo home run from Derek Bockhorn. ASU scored two more runs in the bottom of the third on an error and a Kyle Mandelbaum single.

Kurtis Lay had the Cowboys only RBI in the third. Brian Arnold gave up two earned runs in eight innings of work.

J.W. Mastoupil got the win for ASCU and Justin Roddy had six strikeouts in three innings for the save.

Angelo State improved to 23-22 with the win and the Cowboys fell to 21-16. HSU closes its regular season this weekend with a three-game set with Howard Payne.
