KERRVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped a 9-3 decision to Schreiner, Friday afternoon in American Southwest Conference action in Kerrville. The Mountaineers dropped a six-spot in the Cowboys in the fourth inning to chase starter Craig Foreman. SU led 8-1 after four innings. HSU got back two runs in the fifth, but were unable to close the gap. The Cowboy bullpen allowed only one run over the final four and a third innings, but SU's Casey Green threw a complete-game, scattering seven hits and striking out six. Scott Drake had two RBIs and Tim Donnelly had a pair of hits to pace the Cowboy attack. HSU fell to 20-12 on the year and 11-5 in ASC West play. Schreiner improved to 10-24 and 4-12 in ASC play. The two teams will play a noon doubleheader on Saturday at noon. --- HSU Athletics --- |
