AUSTIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped a 4-1 decision to Concordia Austin, Friday evening at Fudholz Field on the Concordia campus in Austin. The Cowboys trailed 1-0 in the third when Craig Johnson tied it up with a home run to right center. HSU left 10 runners on base in the game. CUA scored a run in the sixth and two in the seventh, both on two-out base hits. Dalton Rucker took the loss for the Cowboys. Stephen Smith pitched a complete-game win for the Tornados. The Cowboys fell to 20-14 overall and 11-4 with the loss and Concordia-Austin improved to 16-11 overall and 10-6 in league play. The two teams will finish the series on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader. |
