SHERMAN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team won its fourth straight game with a 4-2 win over Austin College, Tuesday afternoon at Baker Field in Sherman. The Cowboys received a solid pitching performance from four pitchers. Lance Johnson went four innings, allowing two runs and Sidjohn Regala, Kyle Barton and Josh Alcorn went five scoreless innings in relief. Regala went to 3-0 on the year and Alcorn earned his third save with a scoreless ninth. Danny Ruth had a solo home run in the fourth inning for the Cowboys. Tervor Bunte added an RBI single in the fourth to tie the game and the Cowboys scored on three errors by AC third baseman James Erdle in the sixth inning to go ahead 3-2. HSU put up an insurance run in the ninth when Bunte scored on a wild pitch. HSU improved to 18-11 on the year and Austin College fell to 17-13. HSU hosts division-leader Concordia-Austin in a key American Southwest Conference series this weekend at Hunter Field. |
