STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped an 8-4 non-conference game to Tarleton State Tuesday evening in Stephenville. The Cowboys fell to 15-10 on the year.

The Cowboys scored three runs in the sixth inning on a Barry Janisse three-run homer and scored a run in the seventh on a RBI groundout by Taylor Lamar.

Senior pitcher Kyle Tabor set the nonscholarship era for career strikeouts with 163 with three K's in his three innings of relief.

Elliot Strader and Brad Coleman each had three hits for the Cowboys. Nick Kincaid took the loss on the mound.

HSU will play a three-game set at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday.
