Cowboys Lose in 11 Innings

PLAINVIEW, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped a 10-9 decision to Wayland Baptist in 11 innings Tuesday evening at Wilder Field in Plainview.

The Pioneers won the game with a bases loaded walk in the 11th inning by Paul Garrett. He took the loss, allowing his first run of the season. The Cowboys defense was the culprit in the game with a school-record eight errors.

HSU trailed 8-4 after seven innings but scored four in the eighth to tie the game. Taylor Lamar had an RBI single and Brad Coleman a two-run double in the eighth to tie it. WBU went ahead 9-8 with a run in the eighth and Tre Sellari hit his third home run in the ninth to tie the game.

The Cowboys used five different pitchers in the game. Lamar and Sellari had three hits each for HSU.

The Cowboys fell to 14-11 on the year. WBU improved to 17-18. HSU travels to Kerrville for a three-game set with Schreiner this weekend.
