March 26, 2004 SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped the first game of its American Southwest Conference showdown with Texas Lutheran, falling 4-1 to the Bulldogs at Katt-Isbell Field in Seguin on Friday afternoon. Both teams played well and the Bulldogs were able to get the key hit when they needed it. In the third, TLU scored a run after Brandon Green reached on an error, moved up on wild pitch and a ground out and scored on a base hit. Chris Dusablon had a two-run double for the Bulldogs in the fourth. Carlos Buentello added a solo home run in the fifth to make it 4-0. HSU battled back with a run in the sixth, when Brad Coleman knocked in Justin Wilson. The other times the Cowboys got a threat going Texas Lutheran turned a double play, including one to end the game. Craig Foreman fell to 4-1 on the season for the Cowboys, despite pitching well. He allowed only three earned runs and six hits in eight innings, while striking out five. Matt Hunn took the win for the Bulldogs. He scattered seven hits in nine innings of work. HSU fell to 13-8 and 6-1 in ASC West play, while the Bulldogs improved to 21-2 and 7-0 in league play.
