LUBBOCK, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped its third straight game, falling 12-1 to third-ranked Lubbock Christian, Tuesday afternoon at Hays Field in Lubbock. Sam Walker started for the Cowboys and allowed four runs in two and two-third innings of work. Chase Robertson had a two-out two-run single in the second inning for LCU and Ryan Burke had a solo home run in the third. Tyler Johnson had a two-out double in the third for the Chaparrals. HSU picked up a run in the fifth inning when Kyle Post hit a two-out triple off the centerfield wall. R.C. Waters then walked and Ryan Stepp had an RBI single to right field to put the Cowboys on the scoreboard. LCU responded with a six-run fifth inning. The Chaps had four doubles and a home run in the inning. LCU added two more runs in the sixth to make it 12-1. Hardin-Simmons is now 12-11 on the year and Lubbock Christian improved to a remarkable 29-1. HSU will host Concordia on Friday at 7 p.m. --- HSU --- |
