LUBBOCK, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Lubbock Christian, 7-2 and 8-3, in nonconference action at Hays Field. In the first game, the Cowboys jumped to a 2-0 lead after the top of the third. But the Chapparals struck for five runs in the bottom of the third to take command. Justin Wilson hit his eighth home run of the season for HSU in the game. Six different Cowboys had one hit. Nick Kincaid took the loss for the Cowboys to fall to 3-3 on the year. In the nightcap, LCU scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning en route to the 7-2 win. Michael Simpson led the HSU offense with two hits. Patrick Brandt took the loss on the mound. HSU fell to 12-9 with the losses and LCU improved to 25-6 on the year. HSU hosts McMurry in conference action on Friday. |
