LUBBOCK, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team continued its hot play with a win over Lubbock Christian, 4-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Hays Field in Lubbock. The win improved the Cowboys to 12-9 on the year and it also snapped an 11-game winning streak by the Chaparrals. LCU fell to 22-6 on the year. Sidjohn Regala was dominant on the mound for the Cowboys. He scattered nine hits in the complete game win. HSU scored more runs than Regala needed before he took the mound with a two-run first. Taylor Lamar and Ryan Stepp led off with back-to-back walks and moved up on a groundout. Then Brad Coleman had an RBI single and Danny Ruth had an RBI groundout. The Cowboys added two more runs in the second. Once again the inning started with two straight walks. Tre' Sellari and Kurtis Lay walked and were moved up with a bunt by Trevor Bunte. Lamar then doubled them both home. The Chaps scored their lone run in the third. HSU will host Mary Hardin-Baylor this weekend in an American Southwest Conference series. |
