Janisse Pushes Cowboys Past Sul Ross State

ODESSA, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team won its fourth straight game with a 9-5 win over Sul Ross State, Friday afternoon at UT-Permian Basin in Odessa in the American Southwest Conference opener for both teams.

Sul Ross State got four runs in the first, but Nick Kincaid was solid after that and picked up the win to go to 3-1 on the season. Cody Armer took the loss for Sul Ross State.

The Cowboys scored two in the first and came back with three in the second inning to take the lead for good. Barry Janisse had a big day at the plate for the Cowboys. He went 4-for-5 with a triple and five RBIs. Justin Wilson added three hits.

The Cowboys are now 9-5 on the season and are 1-0 in league action. Sul Ross State fell to 2-9 and 0-1. The two teams will play doubleheader at noon on Saturday. That is a reschedule of the time.
