Abilene, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team snapped its four-game winning streak with a 10-4 loss to Frineds Tuesday afternoon at Hunter Field in the second day of the Abilene Spring Break Classic. The game was tied at 3-3 in the sixth, when Friends exploded for six runs, including three unearned runs. Josh Cosby took the loss on the mound, giving up four runs on six hits in five-plus innings. He struck out seven in his first start as a Cowboy. Barry Janisse, Brady Coke, Andy Harrington and Tim Donnelly had two hits each for the Cowboys. Harrington had his second home run of the season. Scott Jay led the Friends charge with two home runs and tow doubles. Brian Ayers had three hits. Hardin-Simmons is now 7-4 on the year and Friends improved to 12-4. HSU plays Southwestern at noon on Wednesday. |
