Cowboys Fall To UT-Dallas In Series Opener

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team fell to UT-Dallas, 17-5, in the opening of a three-game conference series at Hunter Field on Friday night.

Freshman Josh Anderlohr led the Cowboy attack with three hits, including two doubles. John Schlaffer added three hits. Caleb Chandler had a huge game for UTD going 5-for-7 with three runs scored, two home runs and four RBIs.

HSU freshman Bo Vaculik had a home run in his first career at-bat in the eighth inning,

Starter Craig Foreman (0-3) took the loss for the Cowboys. Kevin McKnight picked up the win allowing one run over five innings.

HSU falls to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in ASC play. UTD improved to 7-2 overall and to 2-2 in conference play.

The two teams will square off in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
