Cowboys Split Games With LC In Doubleheader Today

PINEVILLE, Louisiana - Hardin-Simmons baseball team split a conference doubleheader with Louisiana College Saturday in Pineville, La. The Cowboys won 9-6 in the first game but lost 4-2 in the nightcap.

John Schlaffer led the team with three hits and four RBIs in the 9-6 win over LC. Harrington had the only home run of the game for HSU in the six inning.

In the first game Brandon Beene, Chuy Rodriquez and Andy Harringon had two runs each for the Cowboys. Matt Hinds pitched 4.1 innings and had two strikeouts and gave up no earned runs.

Chase Crump led the Wildcats with two runs and two hits while pitcher Dustyn Parker took the loss for LC.

LC came back in the second game of the doubleheader today and out scored HSU 4-2. Craig Robertson led the Wildcats with two runs while Aaron Norris and David Long had one run each. Long led with two RBIs and one hit.

Josh Anderlohr led the Cowboy attack with two hits. Ryan Devere delivered a two-ruun home run to left center in the fourth inning for the Cowboys.

Tyler Mayo pitched 4.1 innings and had one strikeout and took the loss for HSU.

HSU moves to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in American Soutthwest Conference action and LC moved to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in ASC play.

The Cowboys will return to action on Tuesday when they take on Wayland Baptist at 7:00 p.m. at Hunter Field.
